The Car Dumper at Harrison Point enables rapid and automatic discharge of wagons without the need for uncoupling.....

Each wagon has a set of five doors on its west side which are lifted by a ramp placed alongside the track inside the building - The ore then discharges effortlessly into the chutes below and is collected in a large receptacle underneath

 
     

A view of the Ramp Assembly and overhead Locating Beam during construction - The Locating Beam stops any upward motion of wagons as they pass through.

Note the wonderful 'Esla' streetlamp which now provides light for the patio in the background - This was rescued and lovingly restored by its new owner, and now sports Great Western colours....

A view into the completed Dumper - The additional guide on the right ensures that the wagon's doors will be in the correct position to be operated by the ramp - Internal overhead lighting has also been installed to enable working during the hours of darkness!
